A Letter to the Chief Minister

Dear Mr Chief Minister,

My heart fills with rage, shock and pain as I hear you hurl abuses at a martyrs father. A father broken hearted and grieving at the loss of his young son is further hurt and humiliated by you. As you remain defiant and dont want to apologise to the Unnikrishnan family, Mr Achutanandan, all I can say is you are deeply disconnected with the people you claim to represent. So I hope and pray that God Almighty bestows upon you empathy, grace and a sense of concern.

My sincere prayer, that you never have to go through the pain of lighting the funeral pyre of a loved one

My sincere prayer that no loved one of yours should ever come as a body bag wrapped in the tricolour.

My sincere prayer that you never have to go through the anxiety of knowing your loved one is fighting a thousand bullets, coming from terrorists who are determined to kill.

My sincere prayer that you never have to hear the phone ring, when you know it could be the news you dread.

My sincere prayer that you never come face to face with an arrogant and contemptous politician in your hour of grief.

My sincere prayer that you understand why Major Sandeep Unnikrishan is a national hero and a pride of this country and his family deserves the utmost respect for teaching him, 'nation above self'.

My sincere prayer that you fathom what it is to send your only son to the Indian Army where not too many politicians children ever dare to enter.

My sincere prayer that you understand why families of the Mumbai martyrs who have faced bullets to keep their countrymen safe are turning politicians like yourself away. Because they have no use for your beacon flashing security sir, or the money that you choose to offer as compensation. In fact you came knocking at the door of this martyr, with sniffer dog and all sir

My sincere prayer that you show one tenth the courage a young man of 31 showed this nation, and apologise to a family which will live with the loss of their only son for a long time to come, and apologise to this nation, because Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan wasnt just an officer of the Bihar regiment, wasnt just an officer on deputation at the National Security Guards, wasnt just a son of Kerala. He belongs to this nation and how we hope we could have gone to this house and thanked him in person for what he did for us. Mr Chief Minister its a house no one would ever turn away from.

Yours sincerely,

A citizen of India

Respected the citizen of India,
I do really realise what a common man in India is realising after terrorist attack in Mumbai. Now Mumbai has become normal because they have nothing to do except it. They have to earn their livelihood by hook or crook. They have been compelled to forget it. But a close eye can easily see the wounds in their hearts. This may be a political attack. But really it is an attack on the hearts of the common people in India those who believe in brotherhood and trust in one God. ...Reply

now-a days, young people are more interested in the professions which are lucrative and literally ,they are not at all concerned a little bit about the nation.every student who get out of college would like to fly away to some rich country and lead a luxurious life.
there are very few people who get into police, army, navy etc.and lay their lives to protect the nation.ngs has done a great job in confrontation with the terrorist and they have even saved some hostages from the terrorists captive.
cm of kerela has humiliated the family of Unnikrishnan, made their family get more devastated .
being a cm of a state,he would have appreciated the efforts of the nsg commando who died for a reason ,a state should be proud of.
i think the govt.should encourage the youth to get into some of strategic services of the country.it is the responsibility of the govt. to attract the most talented people into the govt. services.pay packages prescribed by the 6th pay commission are at par with the private sector ,is obviously a encouraging gesture to attract the best brains of our country. ...Reply

Dear Anubha,
its been nearly a week since you wrote this blog, just a week and sandeep, achutanandan all have been forgotten. congratulations india we have done it again.. a forced apology and we are back to normal so much that even the news channels have forgotten all about it, no i don't say that we should hang on to it but isn't a week too less a time to forget it???? thats why for the past 60 yrs we have been living like this coz we forgive and forget too soon... i'm sure mr chief minister wouldn't even have a bit of remorse but relief that the furore died down without any damage.. it was a very emotional bit you wrote but we shouldn't let our emotions dry so soon lest we want another mumbai to happen.. ...Reply

A letter by the CHEAP MINISTER

Dear reader,

Now that I am off my cherished chair let me tell you that I have done my job as a true Husmukh. My years on the chair, which I never left to take care of any serious boring issue, have been full of fun and frolic. I have made you a partner of my comedies. As they say charity begins at home, I got my son to do all the comedies for you and made you laugh. Such is his attraction that while watching his last movie the 105th time, I even forgot about all my national duties. I allowed at that time many terrorists to come and take Mumbai to the world map. Then I got my side kick to pick up cliché dialogues from the Bollywood movies and make jokes about it. When he could not laugh more about it, I decided to make another comic horror movie with my friends from the Bollywood. Of course, for that reason I even smuggled my great son and his director friend into the high security area to get the first hand glimpse of the comic scene I created.

Now, as I leave, I vow to be back in a movie but my friend suggests that I could be a great villain in that. Isn’t that funny? My successor would surely have loads of laughter when he sits on my creaking chair. You know it broke many times when I jumped with joy during the last episode.

Husmukh!

….written by Pawan on behalf of the Cheap Minister.
