Shiva fights against odds to make a mark in luge

Shiva Keshavan won a bronze medal on December 22, at the Luge Asian Championships in Nagano, Japan. Luge is not a popular sport in India and Keshavan is a pioneer. Just 27-year-old, Keshavan is already a veteran of three Winter Olympics but is not yet a household name in a country which does not have a tradition of winter sports. Not many people in India may be familiar with the kit used in the sport but one can find a similar kit at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne.

Scam-hit DDA vows strict scrutiny in flat allotments

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is fending off allegations that its process to allot around 5,000 flats was rigged and hijacked by builders. The Government has announced that DDA flats will not be allotted till a probe into the allotment process is completed. The process came under a cloud after it was fond at least five persons had been allotted flats though they had given the same cell phone number in the application documents.

Pak plans own dossier to counter India's charge

Pakistan has toughened its stance on the terror dossier provided by India and claimed that New Delhi has not given any evidence to Islamabad related to Mumbai terror attacks. Pakistan's Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir said the terror dossier that India has given has little information and is not credible. Blaming India for being belligerent, Bashir accused India of pushing the entire region towards war.
